Tangerine Software Signs as Optio Reseller

ALPHARETTA, Ga., Oct. 28, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Optio(r) Software (OTCBB:OPTO), a leading provider of document output management and forms automation solutions, today announces it has formed a channel partnership with Tangerine Software, a leading supplier of ERP solutions, business intelligence software and consulting services to mid-market manufacturers and distributors in Canada.

Under the agreement, Tangerine Software will sell Optio solutions and provide related implementation, technical support, programming and ongoing consulting services to mid-market companies in a variety of vertical industries. The reseller relationship with Optio encompasses Optio DesignStudio(tm), Optio e.ComIntegrate(tm), Optio e.ComPresent(tm) and OptioFAX(tm) solutions. The partnership also expands Optio's footprint in Eastern Canada.

"Our customers need complete, flexible solutions to optimize document-driven processes and drive core business," said Tangerine Software President Greg Brown from the company's headquarters in Saint Laurent, Quebec. "With this partnership, we have a tremendous opportunity to bring world-class output management tools to the growing market of mid-size companies often referred to as the 'Fortune 50,000.'"

Tangerine Software is affiliated with Geac Computer Corporation Limited (NASDAQ (NASDAQ: news) :GEAC) and has been distributing Geac's enterprise software solution, System21 Aurora across Canada since 1992. In addition, Tangerine also has the distribution rights to Adonix X3 (www.adonix.com), a fully integrated suite of web-enabled customer service and logistics, manufacturing and financial applications that operate on Microsoft NT and UNIX.
