Macromedia (Nasdaq: MACR - news) on Monday announced a customized version of its Contribute 3 software that simplifies online store creation and customization for eBay (Nasdaq: EBAY - news) store sellers.
Contribute is a visual desktop application that helps non-technical users create and update online content. The software is expected to be available by mid-November. eBay sellers can sign up to be notified when the product is available at the Contribute 3 for eBay Web site.
Visual Editing
eBay Store sellers will be able to create and manage their stores from within the Contribute application. By offering a visual editing environment that does not require any programming skills, Contribute enables non-technical users to create an online store design with no learning curve, Macromedia says.
The software includes easy-to-follow, step-by-step wizards, so any eBay user can quickly design and publish a store featuring logos, images, descriptions, product categories, product showcases and product search.
800 Templates
This version of Contribute will ship with more than 800 professionally designed templates for common eBay Store pages. Contribute users can customize these templates or create their own from scratch and then publish them to their eBay Store with one mouse click.
Contribute translates the store design into standards-based code that renders consistently across all popular platforms and browsers, according to Macromedia.
